Camp NaNoWriMo

camp_nano_logo-1I just joined Camp NaNoWriMo for the month of July, which starts in just 2 days! Camp NaNoWriMo is dedicated to helping writers complete a writing project in a month.

This is the first time I will have participated in something like this, but I’m super excited. I set my goal for 50,000 words. That’s 1,613 words a day! I’ve already been assigned to a “cabin” with 19 other writers, who all share similar writing goals. So, hopefully we’ll be there to support and root for each other as we all labor away at pen or pc.

If I’m successful, I will finally complete the first novel that I will seriously pursue for publishing. This is a story I’ve written and dreamed about since I was 9, and the tentative title is The Luxian Child, a fantasy novel classified as Sword and Sorcery.

Good luck to us all!
